SYNOPSIS

Set against the elemental vastness of the dunes and mountains outside Riyadh during a sandstorm, The Wind Boys follows two male protagonists performed by Bilal Allaf and Federico Acciardi as they navigate the emotional terrain of masculinity, identity, and memory. Through improvised movement and poetic narration, this project captures the struggle between external personas shaped by societal expectations and the internal self that quietly longs for liberation. While their bodies grow and move forward through life, the emotional wounds of boyhood remain unresolved, unspoken, and carried by the wind.

FILM DESCRIPTION

The Wind Boys is a poetic short film exploring the contradictions and complexities of modern masculinity. Against the raw and shifting backdrop of a sandstorm in the Saudi desert, two male dancers perform an improvised duet that embodies the tension between appearance and vulnerability, strength and softness, tradition and transformation.

The film blends VoiceOver, movement, and landscape to portray men caught in a liminal state, shaped by the pressure to conform, yet haunted by a deeper longing for authenticity and connection. Though the protagonists physically grow and move through life, the inner child remains fractured, silenced, and searching. The wind becomes both witness and metaphor: a carrier of secrets, a force of change, and the echo of unhealed truths. Blends voiceover, movement, and landscape to portray men caught in a liminal state, shaped by the pressure to conform, yet haunted by a deeper longing for authenticity and connection. Though the protagonists physically grow and move through life, the inner child remains — fractured, silenced, and searching.
