Saudi adaptation of Mourad Merzouki’s MOSAÏK

MOSAÏK unfolds as a field of moving bodies, where rhythm, geometry, and collective presence intersect. Adapted from Mourad Merzouki’s original work and developed within a Saudi context, the piece gathers 21 dancers into a system of shifting formations. Structure becomes fluid, and the group transforms into a living architecture, continuously reorganizing itself in space.

Originally created by Mourad Merzouki, MOSAÏK brings together hip-hop vocabulary, contemporary staging, and scenography. This adaptation situates the work within a different cultural and performative landscape, where its formal principles—geometry, rhythm, and collective organization—are reexamined through new bodies and contexts.

As the associate choreographer and show director, I led the cultural adaptation of MOSAÏK within a Saudi context, rearticulating its choreographic structure through local performers and sensibilities. Along with leading cross-disciplinary collaborations with costume design and stage lighting design.
